NBC4 and NBCUniversal Foundation awards $20, 000 Grant to Crittenton Services for its commitment to teen women in the community

Silver Spring, MD (August 19, 2011) – Crittenton Services of Greater Washington was among five local non-profits selected by NBC4 and the NBCUniversal Foundation to receive a $20,000 grant to support programs committed to improving the lives of teen girls. NBC4 and the NBCUniversal Foundation select non-profits in prominent areas of the country and awards donations to those with outstanding record of service to the young people of their respective communities.

Jackie Bradford, NBC4 President and General Manager and Director of Community Affairs, Aisha Karimah, presented the organization the generous donation during their Town Hall meeting on Wednesday August 18, 2011. Board Visionary Chair, Pamela Johnson as well as two participants of Crittenton’s SNEAKERS Program accepted the check which will serve in supporting leadership programs aimed at teaching life skills and goal setting and preparing teen girls for college. Through their continued support to young people and their belief that the future rests in the educational advancement of youth, NBC4 and NBCUniversal Foundation have become key supporters of organizations who share this vision. Support is also provided in other cities, including Los Angeles, New York City, and Dallas.
