Crittenton Leadership Academy

Teen girls want to be involved in making the world a better place but don’t often have the opportunity to make their voices heard. When you provide teen women with opportunities to make a difference through advocacy it instills a sense of responsibility and possibility. Crittenton Services of Greater Washington cares deeply about the lives of the teen women we serve. We believe in their capacity to learn, succeed, and achieve a healthy and secure future for themselves and their families.

Fifty SNEAKERS and PEARLS participants from across the Greater Washington metropolitan area are joining together to participate in the Crittenton Leadership Academy and host our 123rd Anniversary High Tea Event. Crittenton Leadership Academy participants will attend workshops to build knowledge and skills in leadership, advocacy, communication, and professional image. Workshop sessions include:

  • Powerful Girls (group building, girl facts, Crittenton mission)
  • Becoming a 21st Century Leader (leadership skills)
  • Networking for Success (goal setting, networking & informational interviewing)
  • Putting Your Best Self Forward (professional image & clothing boutique)
  • Lift Your Voice (advocacy and speaking out on behalf of girls)
  • Become a Social Butterfly (high tea etiquette and social grace)

During the High Tea program, Leadership Academy graduates will present the first Crittenton’s Legacy awards – an honor reserved for persons who have made an extraordinary difference in the lives of teen women.
